There is no magic nor lucky chance behind the process of website, blog, customizable platform account, social network page optimization. You can do it, you can teach yourself how to do it, it is proven. It is not difficult at all, just would require some time and intention of course. And I will back you here with certain steps I applied when improving my site.
Not about you
First of all you should clearly understand that your internet platform (be it website, blog, page, etc) should be not so much ABOUT YOU but predominantly FOR YOUR AUDIENCE. What I mean by that is while your site is serving you it should help and benefit your visitors, audience, clients. Your site shouldn't project "Me - Me - Me", it should project "You. You can profit. You can achieve. You will win. You can get help or advice here." and so on.
Intuitive and easy
Moving forward. So, you know your site or blog inside out because you are building it or have it built by a web-designer. That's why you know how it is supposed to work, but do your visitors would easily guess it? Make sure your site is easy and intuitive to navigate and use.
Give valuable content that is interesting and how it is interesting for your target audience.
Mind however that excessive copy might induce skipping while less wordy right to the point text can build trust.
Copy is good, good copy is even better, but don't forget about images. Human eye catches images much faster than text, so that's how you can win immediate attention. A big text sprinkled with nice images will make it look less "scary" and can demonstrate what is talked about. Also google loves original images. If your blog, article, page, whatever has original images it's a plus to your search ranking.
Cut out and throw away unnecessary stuff. Keep it concise.
Call to action
Make use ofCTA (Call to action) items like links and buttons. 1 CTA per page desirably. Don't confuse your visitor.
SEO (search engine optimisation) is a must. It includes keywords, description, proper use of headings.
Manage your social media
Social networks promotion should work, but not overdo it. If you are promoting one thing (product, article, your website, etc) don't do it same way across all social media. Showcase your product from different perspective on different social platforms.
Start a blog
In case you don't blog it would be a great idea to start as I did. It can build you and audience and will add to search ranking.
